  41. You can get the PVR mail order for around $1600.  However, you went to this
  42. dealer and got some valuable first hand information.  The time you spent
  43. with the dealer, not to mention the fact that they have money invested to
  44. show you working equipment is an added value.  The dealer's price may be
  45. high, but he is adding real value that cannot be had via mail order.

  47. My personal rule of thumb is to not order mail order if I pick the local
  48. dealer's brain.  Now, if there is another local dealer that will work with
  49. you as this guy has, that is another matter.

  51. I buy a LOT of stuff mail order.  I just don't ask local dealers to bear the
  52. cost of informing me or giving me free product demonstrations.  When the PAR
  53. came out, I begged local Amiga dealers to get on in so I could see the
  54. output first.  Seeing the output was very important and valuable.  None
  55. would or could.  Hence, I took a chance and ordered via mail.  It's a
  56. personal thing, but it is worth considering these issues.

  58. BTW, I am NOT saying you are obligated to buy from this guy.  I just think
  59. these issues are worth considering.  Perhaps this guy may provide better
  60. support down the road as well.
